Clothing For A Cause.
Sun Bear Trading Co. is an apparel and accessory brand focused on college culture and summer vibes. Their mascot is inspired by Mary Christmas, a Sun Bear that was rescued in 2018. 10% of all profits go to the Free The Bears charity, which contributed to Mary’s rescue.
The Process
Beginning the process, the client was unsure of exactly the direction they wanted to pursue with their design. Their brief was simple; a bear mascot that embodied laid back summer living, with a target demographic of college students.

Step 1.
Concept Sketching.
Starting with the mascot’s face, I created options for how the art style will look down the line. -
Step 2.
Defining The Layout.
On to shaping the layout and body of the mascot. Honing in on the bigger picture. -
Step 3.
Refining The Artwork.
Bringing simplicity to the design and beginning the coloration and typography.
Final Colorways
After a final design was reached, 3 colorways were chosen and sent to production.
